The Academy was established by make up artist Kelsey McWilliam, who launched her career in make up artistry in Perth, beginning in studio photography as the resident artist at Robyn Allan Photography. The profound impact that the skills of a make up artist can have on the confidence of a person was quickly discovered and a passion for uplifting others through the art of bespoke make up artistry quickly came to life. 

 

"We have worked hard to create a learning experience that will help others find that passion and build their careers to offer that same uplifting confidence to anyone of any age and any shade".

As does the career of any passionate and focused make up artist, Kelsey moved quickly into freelance make up artistry and eventually, bridal make up, creating bespoke looks for each individual according to their specific requests.

Having seen first hand the unfortunate lack of dedicated education centres for make up artistry that serve Scotland, the Scottish Make Up Academy aims to serve as an accessible means of high quality, practical and online learning programmes for make up artists of all levels looking to expand their insurability, build on their qualifications and master modern techniques trending in the industry year on year.
