Service Description

Now that you have completed your formal training in Professional Make Up Artistry, be it with The Scottish Make Up Academy or another training provider, you may be now ready to embark on the next step of your make up artistry career- entering the realm of Bridal Make Up. The Advanced Bridal Make Up Artistry Course is a full day accredited training course offering an intensive curriculum designed to equip students with the skills needed to succeed in the bridal make-up industry. As well as being a high quality artist with a calming and sunny disposition, vital aspects of becoming a successful bridal make up artist include navigating contracts, handling and organising additional administrative tasks, formal invoicing and accounting, timekeeping for wedding day itineraries and above all, the ability to problem solve in somewhat stressful situations. All of which are covered within the theory aspect of the course workbook and classroom element of the day. After lunch (which is provided) you are required to bring your own model to act as your bride to have a bridal consultation and create the perfect wedding day make up look to complete the formal practical assessment. Once you have passed the course, you shall be awarded a formal certificate that qualifies you to be insurable to work weddings- where insurance is now a vital aspect of your career. A pre-reading course workbook is provided to you electronically upon booking your place on the course, which there is a written assessment in the form of a questionnaire towards the end of the day. "She chose you, maybe because of your prices, or because of your previous work in your online portfolio, she may love your particular style, or perhaps you worked with her already as a client and she couldn't envisage anyone else doing her make up on her wedding day- whatever the reason, she chose you. And she needs you more on her wedding day than she will ever realise"

After searching for the right make up artistry course for almost a year, I attended the professional make up artist course with Kelsey at The Scottish Make Up Academy, and I am so glad I did. I cannot recommend it enough! Kelsey is an amazing trainer and talented artist whose passion for her industry and genuine care for the people she teaches really shine through. She is a fountain of knowledge with a beautiful and warming personality that makes you feel so at ease throughout. She has provided me with the tools to hopefully take my career as an MUA forward. I don’t even know where to begin on how unreal a day I had doing the professional makeup course, Kelsey is just Amazing! So kind, friendly, funny and just the most amazing person to be around. I have never done a make up course before but always had a passion for it and so glad I did, kelsey explained everything so clearly and took the time to help explain everything, she truly has a passion for what she does and it’s shows. I can’t describe enough how thankful I am to her for what she has taught me and the continued support there after.
